La Rierola of Manlleu is a manor house dating from 1850 and was built by the great-grandfather of the current owners. The house is fully renovated and decorated with great style and creativity. The entrance is very beautiful. It keeps the original stone floor and ceiling Catalan vault. In the ground floor there is an "accommodation" ready to rent and prepared for 2 and 4 people.
Since 1993 the house has remained open as guest/tourist house establishment, always living with the daily life of the property (orchard and forest).
Among Vic, capital of Osona, and Manlleu you can find La Rierola, with good access by road and train to Barcelona and Girona (1 hour). A lovely place with a unique and special character.
The property is surrounded by fields and has a large organic orchard of one hectare extension.
From the house you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, Montseny Collsacabra, Serra de Bellmunt and the Lluçanès.
The family, the house, the land
I like the feeling of walking on the ground in the garden and work it. I am grateful. All this has given us strength to Toni Rierola, my husband and myself. He taught me to love the house, full of history and struggle. Together we fight for years to continue the Rierola as a prosperous property.
The first initiative was in 1993. It was to adapt a part of the house as a rural accommodation. We began as a "country house". We offered bed and breakfast. It was a very good time. In Osona at that time we were six houses, working in rural tourism. The initiative was a success. We had some good years. The Rierola ceased to be a burden .
Realizing the benefits of the house and the efforts of all who preceded us, we organize cultural events, concerts, poetry recitals, lectures, etc..
The big hall of la Rierola chaired by the family tree has regained life and good vibrations. Starting in 2009 we converted the old house of tenants for tourist use. An exciting new era too, but times have changed, and now not everything is given.
And we conducted another initiative: the orchard, the great grandfather of Toni that organized in 1913 and who had always cared for and cultivated as an added value of rural tourism. Today, given the trends of organic farming and local products, we have another line of business. We work since 2011 with Sambucus, an cooperative ecological cooperative.
We think, work and cooperate for the sustainability of projects and the environment.
